Gavin & Stacey creator and star, James Corden is set to play the lead in School for Santas, a seasonal family film being developed for him by Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner's Working Title Films, and producer Kris Thykier.
The film will be written by Richard Bean, the playwright behind Broadway and West End hit One Man,Two Guvnors which enjoyed a sellout run with Corden in the lead role.
School for Santas follows a down-on-his luck dad, played by Corden, who must embrace the Christmas spirit and discover his inner-Santa in order to win back his kids.
Corden said: “All my life I’ve wanted to make a big family Christmas
movie. To be making one with a company like Working Title Films is a
dream come true. Re-teaming with Richard Bean and Kris Thykier is like
all my Christmas’s have come at once. I can’t wait to start.”
Corden has recently finished filming One Chance, a new Brit-com based on Paul Potts, about an
aspiring singer who becomes a reality TV phenomenon, and he’ll soon be
appearing alongside Keira Knightley in the forthcoming film Can a Song
