Molly Moon casting news

12 year old rising star Raffey Cassidy has been cast in the title role in Molly Moon, an adaptation of Georgia Byng's fantasy novel about an orphan who learns the art of hypnosis.

Raffey (represented by  Shepherd Management), will star as Molly opposite Janet McTeer who will play the head of the orphanage. Raffey,who is the younger sister of Emmerdale's Grace Cassidy played the younger Snow White in Snow White and the Huntsman. She'll next be seen playing Beatrice Selfridge in ITV's new drama series Mr Selfridge.

"Molly Moon's Incredible Book of Hypnotism," published in 2002, follows the orphan Molly as she finds a mysterious old book on hypnotism and discovers she can make people do whatever she wants. But a sinister stranger will do anything to steal her secret.

Georgia Byng has since written five other Molly Moon books in which she learns the arts of time travel, time-stopping, mind reading and morphing.

Produced by Amber Entertainment, and directed by Christopher Rowley, shooting starts in London on October 29th.
