Hammer's new horror The Quiet Ones starts shooting

Sam Claflin stars in The Quiet Ones, Hammer's new supernatural thriller/horror feature which started shooting today on location in Oxfordshire.

Inspired by true events, The Quiet Ones tells the story of an unorthodox but charismatic Professor (played by Jared Harris from Mad Men) who uses controversial methods and leads his best students off the grid to take part in a dangerous experiment: to create a poltergeist from negative human energy.

25 year old Sam (represented by Independent Talent in the UK) can currently be seen playing the Prince in Universal’s Snow White and The Huntsman, starring opposite Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart, and last year starred in Disney’s latest installment of the hit adventure fantasy franchise Pirates of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. As well as TV roles in BBC TV drama White Heat and Channel 4’s Any Human Heart.

He'll be joined  by 18 year old Olivia Cooke from Manchester (represented by PHA) who recently filmed on the BBC's supernatural thriller The Secret of Crickley Hall, and also appears in the BBC1 drama Blackout (formerly known as The Fuse) directed by Misfits director Tom Green which is due to air in July.

Directed by John Pogue, the rest of the young cast includes Erin Richards (represented by Curtis Brown), and 25 year old  Rory Fleck-Byrne (represented by Tavistock Wood).

The Quiet Ones marks Hammer’s next film production after the worldwide box office hit The Woman in Black starring Daniel Radcliffe.
