Meet the young stars of Wizards Vs Aliens

Filming started last week in Newport on the new CBBC sci-fi adventure drama Wizards Vs Aliens which has been created by Doctor Who writer Russell T Davies and Phil Ford. Announced in January as Aliens Vs. Wizards, the name had to be changed after threatened legal action from the US.

Wizards Vs Aliens tells the tale of two 16-year-old boys, Tom a secret wizard and Benny his scientist friend, who try to stop aliens destroying the earth.

Two young newcomers lead the cast:

21 year old Scott Haran (represented by Robert Kelly Associates) from London stars as Tom. Scott plays Teddy Skinner in an episode of this season's Upstairs Downstairs.

Tom Clarke lives a seemingly ordinary life with his dad and grandmother. However he hides a deep secret – Tom’s family are wizards and when the Nekross arrive, hungry for magic, they find themselves on the menu.
The Nekross may be equipped with ray guns, teleports and high-tech robots but they haven’t reckoned on Tom and his friend, science super-brain Benny. They form an extraordinary duo, using Tom’s magic and Benny’s science to battle the Nekross and save the Earth.

18 year old Percelle Ascott (represented by Sainou) from London, plays Benny. Percelle trained at the Brit School in Croydon and recently filmed a guest lead in Silent Witness.

Filming is set to continue on location and at the Roath Lock Studios in Cardiff. The 12-episode series is due to transmit in Autumn 2012 on CBBC.
