Kaya Scodelario is set to star in new independent feature Emanuel and the Truth About Fishes.
The film is to be directed by Francesca Gregorini who wrote, directed and produced the 2009 indie drama Tanner Hall, which also featured British actress Georgia King.
Kaya will take the lead role of Emanuel, a troubled seventeen year old girl who agrees to babysit her strange neighbour’s "baby", which is in fact just a life-like doll. Meanwhile, the neighbour herself is the spitting image of Emanuel’s dead mother.
This year Kaya starred as Cathy in Andrea Arnold's Wuthering Heights, and recently wrapped on Ol Parker's Now is Good with Dakota Fanning and Jeremy Irvine.
Emanuel and the Truth About Fishes is expected to shoot in 2012.
