Broken the new feature film from Cuba Pictures which begins shooting on the 17 October. An open casting, advertised by Screenterrier, was held back in February for the lead role of 11 year old Skunk Cunningham.
She will star alongside Robert Emms (represented by Curtis Brown), a graduate of LAMDA and soon to be seen in War Horse, who plays the damaged 19 year old of the title, Rick Buckley.
Appearing as Skunk's brother Jed, is one of Screenterrier's top young teenage actors 16 year old Bill Milner (represented by Curtis Brown).
And 18 year old Faye Daveney (represented by A&J Management) will play Saskia, one of the troubled sisters in the neighbouring Oswald family. 13 year old George Sargeant (Academy Agency) plays Skunk's young boyfriend Dillon.
Tim Roth plays Archie the father of the 11-year-old girl (Eloise Laurence) living in North London who witnesses a violent attack that changes the way she looks at the world around her.
Based on the novel by Daniel Clay and adapted for the screen by Mark O’Rowe, Broken will be directed by Rufus Norris and features a high calibre cast which also includes Cillian Murphy, Rory Kinnear, Robert Emms, and Zana Marjanovic.
The film, produced by Cuba Pictures, will shoot for five weeks in the UK.
