With Luke (Tommy Knight) off to university – but far from forgotten – there’s a new character joining the gang, Sky, played by 13 year old Sinead Michael.
Sinead (represented by Byron's Management) is from London, and played Emily in ITV thriller The Children, and also appeared as one of Enid Blyton's daughters in BBC4 biopic Enid.
Describing how she got the part, Sinead said, "My agency sent me along for the audition with the casting director and I got a recall to do a second audition a few weeks later. I was so surprised to get the part. I have done acting before. I have been in a few dramas on stage, in an opera and a few other bits, but nothing as big as Sarah Jane. "
"It was amazing. I loved filming every minute of it. It’s a great show. I am aware that it has been around for four series and am hoping that everyone likes my character even though I’m the new girl!"
And Sinead paid tribute to the late Elisabeth Sladen,
"Lis was such a lovely woman who cared about everyone on set. She was like a mum to me when I was filming. I miss her so much. I remember when I first went on set, I was so nervous and she said to me: "Don’t worry, just relax and have fun". I will never forget her."
In the first adventure Sarah Jane discovers a mystery baby on her doorstep. But with explosions, power surges and reports of a Metal man falling from the sky, Sarah Jane is convinced that there's more to the baby than there first seemed. The second part of "Sky" in which Sky has undergone an amazing transformation, but in doing so has triggered a countdown that no one can stop, will be broadcast on Tuesday 4th October on CBBC.
