Back in October last year, Screenterrier announced the search was on to find a young boy to play Oskar Schell in the screen adaptation of Jonathan Safran Foer's 2005 book Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.
In December 12 year old newcomer Thomas Horn was cast to star alongside Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock in the Stephen Daldry directed feature.
Daldry needed an exceptionally intelligent kid to play Oskar Schell, the bright and precocious 9-year old whose father is killed in the World Trade Centre collapse. The boy finds a key left behind in his father’s belongings, and sets out on a cathartic journey to uncover the lock.
The film is scheduled for release at Christmas in the US and on February 3rd in the UK.
