Saoirse Ronan and Gemma Arterton are to join forces in a new film Byzantium to be directed by Neil Jordan and produced by Stephen Woolley, news from Cannes reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
The original script has been written by Moira Buffini and is based on her youth theatre play but has been taken to a slightly more adult, darker level, Woolley said. It details the story of a mother vampire who turns her own daughter into a vampire, the pair forming a lethal partnership, sometimes posing as sisters.
The film is set to shoot in October.
