Dark Shadows rounds out its young cast

14 year old Chloe Moretz is joining the burgeoning cast of Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows,  a gothic horror tale about the vampire Barnabas Collins.

The cast now includes Johnny Depp in the lead role, with Eva Green, Michelle Pfeiffer, Jackie Earl Haley, Helena Bonham Carter and Bella Heathcote among those already on the project. Deadline reports that Moretz is in talks to play Carolyn, the daughter of Pfeiffer's troubled, reclusive Collins family matriarch Elizabeth Collins.

Thomas McDonell (star of Disney's Prom) was recently announced as the younger version of Depp’s character, and a young Australian child actor Gulliver McGrath, who had a small role in Hugo Cabret alongside Chloe Moretz, will play David Collins. Gulliver (represented by ARG in the UK) made it to the finals for the lead in Martin Scorsese's Hugo Cabret, but the role went to Asa Butterfield.

And a young British actor, 10 year old Vincent Curson-Smith (from the very successful Young Actors Theatre in Islington) will play the youngest version of Johnny Depp's character, Barnabas.

The film is based on a British 60s TV series of the same name and is due to start shooting in May.
