Leonardo, an exciting action-packed new 13-episode series full of mystery, adventure and an unfolding love story, which steps back in time 500 years.
Leonardo follows the teenage Leonardo da Vinci and his friends: the street-smart and razor-sharp Machiavelli; Lisa, the subject of the world's most famous painting; and Lorenzo de' Medici, son of the foremost banking dynasty in Italy. Together, these fabulous four define the modern world.
Leonardo is played by 22 year old Jonathan Bailey (represented by Debi Allen Associates), who also starred in BBC Switch comedy Off the Hook. Machiavelli is played by Akemnji Ndifornyen (represented by Piers Nimmo), Lisa by Flora Spencer-Longhurst (represented by United Agents), Lorenzo by Colin Ryan (represented by Jessica Carney Associates) a graduate of Arts Ed.
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of 15th-century Florence, Leonardo is far from a typical period drama. It's fast-paced with modern music and language, and a fashion sense that is more high street than high culture.
At the heart of the show is the young Leonardo da Vinci. Working as an apprentice, he's not just a free-thinking genius; he's also an unstoppable creative force who's always 10 steps ahead.
The 13-part series is produced by Kindle Entertainment and the first two episodes air as a double-bill on Monday 11th April at 5:15pm on the CBBC channel.
