The Boy In The Dress

Actor/author David Walliams', creator/star of BBC's Little Britain, first children's book, The Boy In The Dress, is set to be made into a TV movie by Sky, per The Sun.

A source said: “David is delighted. He is really proud of his books, which have become a big success over the years.”

The best-selling novel, which was published in 2008, is already at the casting stage.

Hat Trick, the firm behind Father Ted and Have I Got News For You, are looking for boys to play the main role of Dennis. The 12-year-old has a troubled home life and decides to wear a dress so he can pretend to be a girl at school.

The programme makers are hoping for an inspirational family hit similar to Billy Elliot.
