Douglas Booth joins Miley Cyrus in LOL

17 year old British actor Douglas Booth is set to star opposite Miley Cyrus in her new film LOL. LOL is the Lisa Azuelos-directed remake of the 2009 French film Laughing Out Loud, which starred Sophie Marceau and Christa Theret.

LOL will be Douglas' American feature film debut. He recently starred as Boy George in the BBC2 drama Worried About the Boy and will next be seen in another BBC production about Christopher Isherwood, Christopher and His Kind.
Douglas has also modelled for Burberry alongside Emma Watson

He will also appear in "The Pillars of the Earth", the new $50 million Ken Follett TV saga about the building of a medieval cathedral. Produced by Ridley and Tony Scott, it stars Donald Sutherland, Rufus Sewell, Hayley Atwell, with Sam Claflin, Skye Lourie amongst many other well-known names. Douglas Booth plays the reluctant crown prince, Eustace. 'He's a bit rubbish, a bit of a wuss, but it's a good character. He's quite tragic really.'

Douglas (represented by Curtis Brown) has also already made his big screen debut in "From Time to Time", a ghost story that jumps between 1944 and 1809, written and directed by oscar winning Julian Fellowes (Gosford Park) and starring Maggie Smith and Dominic West. Douglas played Sefton, a young boy in the 1809 subplot who befriends the lead character (played by Alex Etel) on his time travels.

His mother is half Spanish and half Dutch, his father English, he was born in London and grew up in Greenwich and Black Heath before moving down to Sevenoaks in Kent. At 15 he began his modelling career which culminated in being selected as a Burberry boy, the Burberry creative director says of Douglas, "he is an exceptionally talented young guy who we feel is going to be a huge star. He has a really modern British look and style... he's also down-to-earth and a pleasure to be around." Douglas left school to concentrate on his acting career, and his role in LOL seems set to bring him worldwide stardom.
