Submarine casting news

Screenterrier reported back in July on the open auditions for the lead teen roles in Richard Ayoade's directorial debut Submarine.
Shooting begins at the end of October in Cardiff, and 18 year old Welsh actor Craig Roberts (represented by Cardiff-based agency ATSLI) has been cast in the lead role of Oliver.
Based on Joe Dunthorne’s debut novel, it is the coming-of-age story of 15-year-old Oliver Tate who is on a quest to lose his virginity to a pyromaniac bully and to stop his mother leaving his father for her capoeira teacher.
This is the first major film role for Craig who started out in children's TV appearing as Rio 'Wellard' (brother to Chantelle and Roxy) in Tracy Beaker, and starring as Robin in Young Dracula.
