Double nomination for Katie Jarvis


Katie Jarvis, the teenage star of Fishtank, has been nominated for both Best Actress and Most Promising Newcomer in the 12th annual British Independent Film Awards announced today, Monday 26 October, at Soho House in London.

Fishtank, An Education and Nowhere Boy are all among the nominees for Best British Independent Film.

Joining Katie with a Best Actress nomination are Carey Mulligan (An Education), and Abbie Cornish for Brightstar.

Aaron Johnson (Nowhere Boy) is among the nominees for Best Actor.

Joining Katie with a Most Promising Newcomer nomination is 16 year old George MacKay for his role in The Boys Are Back.

The awards ceremony will take place on Sunday 6 December at The Brewery, Chiswell Street, in London and will be hosted by James Nesbitt.
