We are making a 52 minute film of a twelfth century fairytale, Sir Lanval, set in King Arthur's Court. It's a breathtaking rollercoaster of a romance - love, betrayal, deceit, passion, fidelity, all played out in the fairytale granite landscapes of both Dartmoor and Brittany. The film will initially be distributed free to schools and touristic places.
We're looking for two young actresses to play Aurora and Luned, fairy maidens who weave their way through the story, sometimes visible to the humans and sometimes invisible. It would be good if you have some experience of acting Shakespeare or similar.
You'll need to be available for shooting the weekend of 31st/1st October this year and for 16th-30th May 2010. Perfect for a student on a gap year!
The informal auditions take place during the afternoon of 9th October in Chagford, and there will be tea and home-made cake to calm your nerves. If you would like to take part, please email us THIS CASTING IS NOW CLOSED. He'll fill you in on where to come, answer your questions and send you some lines to practise.
Please do pass this message on to any young people you think would like to take part in this magical film, so rich with relevance to today's celebrity culture. It's an amazing story with a glorious role reversal in which a woman rescues the knight-in-distress! It's twelfth century GIRL POWER!
