CBBC Open Casting Call

 Bo and the Spirit World

The BBC is looking to cast two young British Chinese leading roles in an exciting new kung-fu action fantasy television series, BO AND THE SPIRIT WORLD for CBBC.
  • Ideally you should be British Chinese, but we welcome interest from any section of the East Asian community.
  • You don't have to have acted or done any martial arts before - we'll give you what training you need before filming and the rest will be done by special effects!
  • In the story, Bo is 13 and her brother Timothy is 11, but it doesn't mean you have to be that age. It means need to look that age on camera. In real life, you might be older.
  • Filming will take place from early April 2009 and finish in June 2009.
This is a big commitment and if you are under 18 then you will need the approval of your parent or guardian, so talk it through with them.
If your parent/guardian approves, you will need to attend one of the four BBC casting auditions across the UK (London, Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow) during January and February 2009
  • Birmingham on Saturday 17th January
  • Manchester on Sunday 18th January
  • Glasgow on Monday 19th January
  • London on 10th and 17th January and 7th February

Next Move?

If you're interested, go to the CBBC website and complete and submit the form. On the form you'll need to give your parent or guardian's email address (it might be the same as yours) and a phone number (it might be your home landline, or a mobile) so that we can call them if you are lucky enough to be selected for an audition.
The closing date for applications is Wednesday 14th January 2009.
